Tasks and responsibilities
As Executive Adviser, you are the Governor’s primary strategic policy adviser. You analyse complex issues, convert them into clear proposals, coordinate decision-making, and maintain relationships with governmental and societal partners. You represent the Cabinet in meetings and oversee the follow-up of decisions.
Your main responsibilities
• Prepare policy advice, briefing notes, decision proposals and ensure quality and consistency in submissions from the organisation.
• Coordinate policy development with internal departments and external partners (ministries, police, inspection authorities, NGOs).
• Lead and facilitate meetings with safety and chain partners, define follow-up actions and monitor progress.
• Oversee and safeguard the implementation of decisions made by the Governor and the Executive Council.
• Stimulate knowledge-sharing and alignment between the Governor’s Cabinet, the Executive Council and the Island Council.
• Draft formal correspondence and documentation related to administrative and political decision-making.
• Support and accompany the Governor during working visits, stakeholder consultations and (inter)national conferences.
• Build and maintain strategic networks that contribute to good governance, safety and public order on the island.
